Art By Rebecca Dene
Rebecca Dene is a Houston-based visual artist working primarily in painting and drawing. Using oil paint, acrylic, and charcoal, she creates polarizing contemporary surrealist works that explore psychological landscapes, feminine identity, and the complexity of inner experience. She pairs dark imagery with bold color palettes, using recurring symbols such as anatomy and the human figure to create work that is both unsettling and emotionally charged.
With academic backgrounds in psychology and neuroscience, as well as graduate study in counseling, Dene brings an interest in emotion, perception, and human behavior to her practice. She approaches painting as both creative expression and psychological inquiry- a means of survival, an opportunity to create meaning from life experiences, and a way to make sense of herself and the world.
